Today, Oct 7, 2010 is the first day of my blog and my first posting is an article written by Carol Camelot of the Desert Valley Star, California, published today. The link to the newspaper article about ARTI being the most experienced rescue team, in the world, follows: http://www.mygazines.com/title/5568 ( to read the paper or read the article, here, in the following post.
Nobody, ever complained to me when I would risk my life by crawling inside of a collapsed building, to save someone buried alive. Not once, during 25 years as an unpaid volunteer, while crawling inside of 894 collapsed buildings, at more than 100 major disaster events.
Now I am controversial, hated, lied about, receive death threats and am made to be a villain. Why this tremendous change? $$$$ money$$$$$ is the answer. I am threatening the profits of insurance companies…billions every year. The lives of School children are sacrificed and endangered, for profits and I am dedicated to stopping it.
My email signature says it all:
doug copp
founder of ARTI ( the world’s most experienced rescue and disaster mitigation/management organization) and the Discoverer of the ‘triangle of life’ to take building collapse survivability from 2% using ‘duck and cover’ to 90% using the ‘triangle of life’
ARTI is All Unpaid Volunteers willing to stand up to and fight USA insurance companies and bureaucrats who consider it ” cheaper and less trouble” (a direct quote from a Washington State Director of Emergency Services) if victims die rather than survive with possible trauma and sue ( less profit for insurance companies and higher premiums for bureaucrats)
“Now, that my 911 injuries have made it impossible for me, to crawl into collapsed buildings, I thank God for allowing me to continue saving lives. I am willing to sacrifice my life, my health, my reputation and endure any attack, slander, burden or harm to fulfill this life purpose. PERIOD.” These bureaucrats and profiteers can only stop me by killing me. Their threats and attacks are nothing compared to the eternal damnation, I would give myself if I let them kill the children.
see www.amerrescue.org for hundreds of pages of testimonials, videos, docs. Complete information to survive major disaster, learned from doug’s searching 896 collapsed buildings and witnessing 1+ million collapsed buildings, at more than 100 major disaster events; throughout the entire world… amerrescue@aol.com www.amerrescue.org

Read the history and myth of DUCK and COVER
Listen to those who know where survivors are always found and understand why victims are always found under those objects recommended by the “Duck and Cover” advocates.
The choice you make could be your last, make it a wise decision.
survivors are found in survivable voids and ‘victims’ found under desks etc..’victims’ means dead, squashed bodies
Thanks Doug,
There are two kinds of people in the world – takers and givers.
You are a giver.

I have just seen too many dead children squashed under desks; but, thankyou for your kind words.
Hi Doug
I’m an Iranian Rescue Coach and like to use your website translated Information.
you’re letting me?
Absolutely. ARTI saves lives. Politicians deal with politics we are only interested in saving lives. I , also, have much material already translated into Farsi. Please email me and I will send it to you. Sorry, for the response delay..I was out of town.
Hi
Thank you for your permission.
I used recived information from you into our weblog and saw good influence.
Best Regard
check out the other blog posts; especially, the view from the 22nd Century
I work in health care. I live in Tennessee in the east near the mountains. I work currently in middle Tennessee. Work place is very close to the New Madrid quake zone.
I had read articles about your rescues and what you recommended to survive many years ago from survival magazine. I want to be prepared to save myself and my family if possible when quakes do come in the zone.
I wrote to the consortium for the midwest with my concerns about what they recommended on their websites.
They followed the cover under desks and other furniture advice.
Here is how that went:
Question:
Your website links to sources that recommend to duck and cover under a
heavy piece of furniture if indoors during an earthquake. Can you tell
me why this is recommended?
I have read sources that indicate more people die as result of this
action.
Our people living in the New Madrid quake zone need the best information
for the safety of their families.
Subject: RE: Question: shakeoutcus
Hi John – thanks for writing to us about the ShakeOut.
In the U.S., people are more likely to be injured by objects
(bookshelves, appliances, electronics, etc.) falling on them than from a
building collapsing. This is especially true in the central U.S. where
our earthquake risk is less than other parts of the world.
Drop, Cover, and Hold On is the recommended action to take in an
earthquake. It is recommended, not only by CUSEC, but also FEMA, the
Red Cross, State Emergency Management, and other experts in earthquake
safety.
For a full explanation on why this is the recommended method, please
visit -

Please review the information and share it with your family and
coworkers and let us know if you have any additional questions on this
or other safety concerns. Thanks for your support,

Subject: Re: Question: shakeoutcus
I have read that other experts refute the drop and cover methods during
quakes.
The cover part is my concern. Getting under furniture such as desks has
been shown to be very dangerous.
http://www.amerrescue.org
I would like you to take a look at this website. They have evidence
from their
investigations and experience in rescue of quake victims that the drop,
cover is
very dangerous.
Thanks
John
Hi John – thank you for your concern. The method you are referring to
has been discredited by a number of sources, which can be seen on the
link I previously sent – http://earthquakecountry.info/dropcoverholdon/
The person that recommends the Triangle of Life, is a self-proclaimed
expert in earthquake protection, teaching this method without the
support of the emergency management community, and his website makes
grand claims which while compelling, are not what we teach people to do.
The reasons why we teach drop, cover, and hold on are also listed on the
website. We, in the earthquake business, have been challenging the
Triangle of Life for years, and will continue to do so.
I’ve cc’d one of the foremost experts in earthquake outreach and
education in the United States, Mark Benthien of the Southern California
Earthquake Center, who may have further comments for you on why this is
not the preferred action to take during an earthquake.
Thanks again for your support in earthquake preparedness,
Brian Blake
CUSEC
Dear John:
This ‘expert’ Brian Blake says it all..in his own words…He is in the ‘earthquake business’. It is a big business of many billions of dollars per year. I, on the other hand am in the life saving humanitarian lifestyle. I am an unpaid volunteer.
I have thousands of pictures, hundreds of videos and thousands of thank you letters from world leaders thanking me for saving lives. The world trade center was the 894th collapsed building that I had crawled into.
Isn’t it curious that he calls me a ‘self-proclaimed’ expert while insinuating that he ‘who has done nothing ecept receive a paycheck is the ‘expert’.
Tell him this . I will pay $10,000 dollars to him to produce a single picture of himself risking his life by crawling into a collapsed building. You will quickly see that flys are swarming around his head.
I don’t care what lies these creeps tell about me. I follow my conscience and ask only that God let me do as much good with my life as I can. I want nothing more than that.

Thanks for your reply Doug. I must make my own decision on this regardless of what these people say. I find that the logic of your recommendations make sense even if there were not the actual evidence that you have discovered in your rescue experience.
How could a person possibly have any protection from serious injury or death if the ceiling above their heads comes crashing down on them during an earthquake? I think that the triangle of life idea is the only way to have some chance of survival.
Thanks, I wanted to share with you my attempts to get information from the Emergency Management in my state.
I will not be following their recommendations. I will use what I have learned from you.
But I am concerned about all the disinformation that these government entities are giving to the public. The public will suffer in the end.
John
Hi Doug,
It is a very very valuable lesson that I experienced just reading the title “Triangle of Life”. It is more interesting when I read into it.
Thank you for enriching us with these information for me to share to my friends in Indonesia.
Regards.
